What you will do…
You will be a part of a dynamic child care community and create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. This will be achieved though planning and implementation of a consist child-centred curriculum in accordance with YMCA curriculums Playing to Learn and A Place to Connect. You are pivotal in protecting and enhancing children’s play experiences. Observing being sensitively involved and carefully guiding extending and scaffolding play are all part of a play partners ‘s responsibility. You create a sense of belonging through relationships, building trusted connections with children, their peers and families to support development and wellbeing.

What you will bring…
Ideally, you have completed an Early Childhood Education diploma program and be registered with College of Early Childhood Educators. Other credentials will also be considered (i.e. Recreation & Leisure, Child & Youth Worker, Ontario College of Teachers, or Social Services Worker). You have experience working with children in a child-centred curriculum setting. You are committed to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs. You have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; the ability to use good judgement and problem-solve; and strong professional conduct. You have up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification, successful completion of Vulnerable Police Records Check within the last 6 months, and up-to-date immunizations including a TB test (only required in the Waterloo Region locations).
