RECE Starting Wage: $29.84 per hour inclusive of all eligible Federal / Provincial Grants
​Non RECE Starting Wage: $25.37 per hour inclusive of all eligible Federal / Provincial Grants
Responsibilities:
To plan and implement age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional develop of children according to Jacob Hespeler Child Care Centre’s Mission, Vision, Philosophy and Program Statements, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, How Does Learning Happen?, and Public Health Guidelines.
To adhere to all JHCCC policies and procedures as set by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:
  • ECE Diploma, Degree or equivalent as approved by the Ministry of Education, or working toward your ECE qualification
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators, not required if currently enrolled in ECE Diploma course
  • Valid Standard First Aid & Infant and Child CPR level C certificate
  • An original Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within 6 months prior to being hired
  • Certificates of completion of WHMIS and Health and Safety Training
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with families, colleagues, school board personnel, and the community
  • Be organized and pay attention to detail with the ability to set priorities and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, dedication, and dependability
  • Have a passion for life-long learning
  • Knowledge of the pedagogical documentation cycle and implementing emergent curriculum
  • Ability to use professional judgement daily within guidelines established by the College of Early Childhood Educators, Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, the Region of Waterloo and program policies

Registered Early Childhood Educator/Montessori Assistant

Morningside Montessori is a small family-based school that provides authentic Montessori education for children 16 months through 6 years of age. Our passion is to provide an environment that encourages children to grow and develop to their potential.
Morningside is looking for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Early Childhood Educator/Montessori Assistant to manage and maintain our one of our beautiful classrooms following the Montessori Philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge and implementation of Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA), Region of Waterloo Public Health requirements, Morningside Montessori School policies and procedures and the Montessori Philosophy
  • Manage and maintain a classroom environment that is complete, safe, clean and high-quality
  • Educate and support children in accordance with the Montessori Philosophy
  • Assess, observe and care for the individual needs of each child
  • Maintain professional and caring communication with parents, co-workers and administration
  • Maintenance of daily reporting and record keeping
  • Participate in all team meetings and school events
  • Participate in annual professional development activities in and out of work hours
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with young children
  • Professional and personable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French an asset)
  • Ability to provide emotional, physical and/or behavioural support to children
  • Ability to collaborate and work as a team member with families, co-workers and administration
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Takes initiative and is proactive in and out of the classroom
  • Strong leadership skills
Qualifications:
  • Required Registered Early Childhood Educator Diploma with current College of ECE registration in good standing.
  • Early Childhood Montessori Diploma would be an asset
  • Standard First Aid CPR Level C
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
  • Up to date immunizations/TB test
  • Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps Certificate
  • Food Handler Certificate an asset

Qualifications:
  • ECE Diploma or Degree as recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Knowledge and experience with How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014)
  • Registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Valid certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-level C (WSIB must approve course provider)
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screen, valid within six months
  • Worker Health and Safety in 4 steps certificate
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) customer service training certificate

  • Ensure children are adequately supervised at all times
  • Nurture children’s healthy development and well-being by viewing children as competent, capable and rich in potential
  • Cultivate partnerships with parents where relationships are respectful of structure, culture, values, language and knowledge
  • Support children’s growing sense of self
  • Create environments and experiences to engage children in active, creative, and meaningful exploration, play, and inquiry
  • Allow children to actively explore, investigate, take manageable risks, and engage in creative problem-solving
  • Appreciate that children have unique needs and a variety of learning styles, methods of understanding and constructing knowledge
  • Engage in constructive relationships with community agencies
  • Remain current in professional knowledge, skills and values
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members to ensure necessary workflow and coverage
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and teamwork skills to deliver a high-quality program effectively
  • Participate in ongoing assessments of the early learning environments
  • Contribute to advancing quality through Early Years Engage and environmental initiatives
