What you will do...
You will lead a team in providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children and families have access to high-quality programs and services influencing positive child, family, and community experiences and outcomes.
You will work side by side with your team to ensure EarlyON Child and Family Centres provide environments that engage parents and caring adults in the play and learning alongside their children and other families. Parents and caring adults will be engaged in conversations and information sharing about child development, parenting, nutrition, play, inquiry-based learning, and other topics that support them in their role as their children’s first teachers.
You will support Early Learning and Development by ensuring the delivery of high-quality experiences that build responsive adult-child relationships and encourage children’s exploration, play, and inquiry, supported by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
You will lead and work alongside of a team that is responsive to questions or concerns about child development, uses validated tools and resources, and links to specialized services; making connections for families during and beyond the early years.
You will provide effective supervision, support and development, and coaching opportunities, which will increase the knowledge, skills, and confidence of your teams.
You will manage administrative responsibilities including staff and volunteer records, financial accountabilities, and data collection requirements.

Ideally, you are a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with a minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a child and family setting. You have great knowledge and expertise in child development, play, and inquiry-based learning. You have experience leading a team in creating environments that nurture relationships for children, parents, and caregivers based on the latest evidence and research.
You will have strong knowledge of the City of Stratford and the County of Perth including local early years programs and services.
Do you have a demonstrated knowledge of How Learning Happens? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years and experience supervising a team in delivering high-quality early years programs. Relationship building, communication, coaching and development, and problem-solving are key competencies you rely on in your day-to-day work.
