Responsibilities:

We require a qualified individual to provide a range of management functions in support of the ongoing operation of Professional Resource Centre (PRC) in the Early Childhood Education department. 

• Manage and co-ordinate the operation of the Professional Resource Centre
• Provide responsive, relevant professional development activities for the community that advance the field of early learning and child care and support quality child care
• Develop and maintain community partnerships related to relevant professional development opportunities
• Liaise with early learning programs, Regional government, provincial bodies, academic sources and other related organizations regarding research and practices related to quality early learning and professional development
• Develop and maintain expertise in the area of quality early learning practices
• Maintain relevant resources related to advancing the field of early learning and childcare
• Monitor the needs of the field
• Monitor monthly program expenses and flag issues for Chairs
• Prepare program proposals, in response to RFP’s for projects
• Create reports for Chair and Community Program Consortia activities
• Contribute to the strategic plan of professional development and learning in our community
• Supervise staff and those supporting professional development activities of the PRC
• Prioritize workflow related to PRC
• Engage students and educators in professional development and professional growth
• Develop and maintain budget
• Provide leadership in customer service by representing the PRC and the early learning field to the public, other academic institutions, other professional resource centres, and the field
• Co-ordinate participation in program focused events
• Work with college and early learning community to ensure PRC programs are effectively communicated throughout the community
• Develop strategies to engage partnerships in the community to expand the PRC membership and elevate the importance of early learning

Qualifications:

• Two year diploma in ECE and Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) designation
• Five years’ experience working directly with children and families in early learning settings
• Three years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to supervise others
• Excellent knowledge of early learning community
 Experience designing and delivering professional development
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Working knowledge of and relationships with relevant community partners
• Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of word processing, publisher, database, spreadsheet, and project management software

HOURS:                   Full Time (evenings and weekends as                                          required)
BAND:                     $18.19
START DATE:          Immediate             

FUNCTION:  Responsible for coordinating all operational functions for YMCA Camp Ki-Wa-Y and the Outdoor Centre on a year-round basis, including administration functions, customer relations and supervision of staff. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Conduct administrative functions for all Outdoor Centre and Summer Camp business including, but not limited to; telephone reception, email correspondence, coordinating group bookings, invoicing, and summer camp communications
·         Establish and maintain effective communication with Outdoor Centre customers/participants and Camper Parents on a yearly basis including new customers and inquiries
·         Co-ordinate sales and schedules for new potential customers
·         Co-ordinate and develop appropriate programs, schedules and menus at the Outdoor Centre for all groups
·         Co-ordinate staffing schedules during the Outdoor Centre season, and provide input with regards to staff supervision and documentation
·         Assist with training and development opportunities for operations staff
·         Assume responsibility for coding bills and inputting into budget calendarization
·         Attend workshops, trainings, conferences and staff meetings as required
·         Assume other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Administration skills and knowledge of basic office systems
·         1-2 years of experience required
·         Proven computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows programs and proficient in Microsoft Office
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills
·         First Aid and CPR certification
·         Acceptable Police Check
