Objective: Provide support to the teacher and educational assistants in a JK classroom.
Time/Location: Positions available in Cambridge and Waterloo. 3 Hours per week, morning or afternoon available. Volunteer needed for the school year; September - June

Commitment: Dedication to be present or contact supervising staff in event of absence.
Duties/ Responsibilities: Assist the teacher with curriculum expectations and strengthening learning in small groups or individually. Prepare classroom materials, i.e., bulletin board or seasonal displays. Supervision during recess, gym, or nutrition breaks. Assist with classroom cleanup when necessary. Aid in bathroom routines as needed. Respect therapy and educational goals. While showing initiative in placement, provide assistance when needed but allow child independence when requested to do so.
Therapeutic swim depending on day of placement.
Qualifications: Minimum age 16
Previous experience working with individuals with speech,
physical or developmental challenges beneficial.
Able to take direction and work independently.
Understanding and respect of confidentiality.
Orientation: Satisfactory criminal and personal reference checks. Completion of all registration forms and tasks. Group Orientation Session. Health & Safety training. Satisfactory criminal and personal reference checks
