Program Manager Wanted

The Country Hills Recreation Association (CHRA) is a non-profit volunteer driven organization that promotes recreational activities at a minimal cost to residents of all ages residing in the Country Hills Neighbourhood and greater community. The CHRA is looking to contract a Program Manager for one year to oversee all facets of coordinating, developing and delivering General Programs. Reporting to the CHRA President, this contract offers 30-50 hours per month at $20/hr.

Responsibilities Include:
 Plan, coordinate, implement and recommend General Programming that could be offered through the CHRA in an attempt to meet community needs: 
      -Program development and design. 
      -Program evaluation i.e. on-site evaluation, instructor feedback, etc. 
      -On call as first point of contact for instructors, volunteers and partners.
 Recruit, interview and contract instructors to lead programs. 
 Working in cooperation with the City of Kitchener Facility staff: 
      -Book space for programs 
      -Ensure templates for online (CLASS) registration are complete and on time and accurately 
      -Cancel or add programs as needed 
      -Confirm school permits are in place 
      -Act as liaison on behalf of CHRA and instructors
 Ensure program supplies/equipment are available to meet program needs.
 Administration Duties include: 
     -Preparation of report for the CHRA Board, related to Programs, 
     -Agenda for Program Committee meetings, 
     -Tracking of files (i.e. Instructors, payroll, list, invoicing etc)  
     -Manage the CHRA computer filing systems and file all outstanding electronic 
     files
 Prepare/Design of program flyers. 
 Program Analysis (financial) i.e. Programs, fees, revenue, etc. 
 Attend Board and Program Committee Meetings (as needed). 
 Social Media updating Facebook, Website and other as it relates to programs. 
 Volunteer Management including intake of all volunteers as it relates to programs i.e. recruit, train, supervise, evaluate

Qualifications: 
 Experience working in a community-based setting 
 Possess strong written and verbal communication skills 
 Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team 
 Skilled in monitoring customer service and performance standards 
 Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher), Basic Internet      Research and Information Technology skills. 
 Exceptional organizational abilities with strong detail-orientation and multitasking skills 
 Ability to work collaboratively with community to achieve desired results. 

Training/Education: 
 Undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate in Recreation and Leisure and/or training or experience in program or event management, or equivalent work experience
