If this is you, join our team and make an impact in the life of a child.

The YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener-Waterloo is one of the community’s largest non-profit organizations. Last year alone we touched the lives of nearly 100,000 people across Waterloo Region connecting them to each other, their health, and their potential. For over 25 years YMCA Child Care has been a leader in delivering quality licensed Child Care in our community.

We believe connected communities are thriving, healthy, and strong. We have the assets to affect positive social change and we know that Child Care is a foundation of our work. That’s where you come in.
What you will do…
You will be a leader in a vibrant Child Care community supporting the growth and development of educators as they create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children and youth to learn and grow. This will be achieved through your ability to hire, orient and train educators in the planning & implementation of a consistent child-centered program in accordance with YMCA curriculums Playing to Learn and A Place To Connect. You will apply knowledge from the Child Care and Early Years Act and YMCA Best Practices. You will participate in the development and execution of annual financial planning for the centre.
What you will bring…
Ideally, you will have 3 to 4 years of experience as a Registered Early Childhood Educator in a licensed Child Care setting and have experience implementing child-centered programs. You will have demonstrated leadership which inspires, educates and motivates others in a team environment. You will have a commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs. You will have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with educators, children, families and community partners.
What you will gain…
You will join a dynamic team and an organization that has massive impact across our community. You will be joining a local organization but you’ll also be part of a global movement. Your work will have impact and the community we all call home will be a little better every day because of you.
