CLEANER
(unionized position)
 
As a cleaner you would be responsible for day to day cleaning at a childcare centre.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
     Previous cleaning employment experience
     Conscientious and willing to take initiative
     Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions
     Practice proper operation of equipment to assure safety and avoid damage to equipment
     Understand and exceed health and safety standards
     WHMIS training is preferred
     Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
     Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm

 EMERGENCY SHELTER WORKER

QUALIFICATIONS
A feminist understanding of women abuse and the dynamics of homelessness usually obtained through a combination of a degree and/or diploma in the social sciences, and relevant work experience.  Preference will be given to those familiar with the welfare system and those who have experience in a shelter setting. Crisis, suicide intervention, and an ability to successfully resolve conflict are required skills.  Valid Standard First Aid and CPR are required.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of a multi-disciplinary staff team, you will offer ongoing support to meet the housing, financial, and life support needs of women in residence; answer telephone inquiries regarding emergency housing; completes intakes and intake related tasks; keep accurate records of medication held for residents; and resolve conflicts between residents.  Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

RATE:            $21.628 per hour, with an additional 2% in lieu of benefits

CAMP LEADER II
(unionized position)
DUTIES:
Would include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the safe implementation of challenging, fun and age appropriate camp activities including, archery, crafts, games and nature activities. 
  • Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the camp facilities are also part of everyday duties.
  • Leaders will also be assigned to provide extended childcare or bus supervision during some sessions.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidates will be dedicated, enthusiastic, safety conscious and creative
  • Minimum of one year experience with school age children
  • Experience working with special needs children would be an asset
  • Experience in a camp setting
  • Related degree or diploma is an asset.
  • Must be certified in First Aid and C.P.R.

This position reports to the Manager of Children’s Early Years Community Services and is responsible to support the increase of quality through capacity building in the early year’s sector throughout the Wellington service delivery area. Through the use of evidence-based research, and consideration of legislative and service system requirements, this position will provide professional development opportunities, resources, and support services primarily for the pedagogical aspect of community based children’s early year’s programmes. Duties also include, but are not limited to, administrative requirements, community training, liaising with community agencies and committees, and adhering to the College of ECE’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
• High School graduation, plus an additional Early Childhood Education Diploma or a letter of equivalency issued by the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario.
• Must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing.
• Over two years of related full time experience in a direct supervisory/management and/or adult education capacity in the children’s early years’ sector.
• A valid driver’s licence (minimum G2 Class) and access to a reliable vehicle.
This position offers a benefit package and a salary range of: $63,936.60 to $74,529.00 (2019 Union Compensation Grid), based on a 35 hour work week.
