DUTIES:
Would include but are not limited to:
  • May either be assigned to leader duties or lifeguard duties.
  • For leaders' duties, please refer to Leader posting. 
  • Lifeguards are responsible for the safe operation of our waterfront program including, implementing policies and procedures and safety standards as well as programming fun, challenging waterfront activities.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Alert, safety conscious, flexible, enthusiastic
  • Minimum swimming level of Bronze Cross
  • Lifeguards must also have the qualifications outlined for Leaders.
  • Must be certified in First Aid and C.P.R.

DUTIES:
Would include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the safe implementation of challenging, fun and age appropriate camp activities including, archery, crafts, games and nature activities. 
  • Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the camp facilities are also part of everyday duties.
  • Leaders will also be assigned to provide extended childcare or bus supervision during some sessions.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidates will be dedicated, enthusiastic, safety conscious and creative
  • Minimum of one year experience with school age children
  • Experience working with special needs children would be an asset
  • Experience in a camp setting
  • Related degree or diploma is an asset.
  • Must be certified in First Aid and C.P.R.

Daytime from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (hours may vary)
 
We are currently seeking Winter Shelter Workers to join our team. The primary job of Temporary Winter Shelter Workers is to welcome unsheltered people and ensure their comfort and safety.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • No requirement for a social work degree or diploma; however, preference will be given to those who have relevant education and experience in a shelter or similar setting. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, volunteers and those who want to build their career in the field of social work/services. You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Housing, Vulnerable People, Social Worker, Community Development, Volunteer, Housing Support Worker, Challenging Behaviour, Residential Care Worker, Night shelter, Security Guard etc. 
  • Must be willing to provide First Aid and CPR-C certification as well as Vulnerable Sector Police check
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Welcome and greet guests as they arrive
  • Answer any calls or inquiries
  • Oversee the safety of the service users and security of the building and grounds 
  • Oversee behaviour on the property and ensuring that all guests observe the rules of the temporary shelter, with particular regard to times when they are entering and leaving the building
  • Monitor the environment and alerting colleagues (staff and volunteers) in any instance where intervention may be required
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements
  • Respond to any emergencies, informing supervisor/on-call staff and any other services as necessary
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Help keep the shelter space clean and orderly
  • Other duties as assigned

We are looking to hire a nanny/babysitter to care for our three children at our home in Waterloo. We are looking for someone who loves spending time with children, loves to have fun and enjoys being outdoors. We are looking for someone who is available on Mondays long term from approximately 12:30pm-7pm. The right candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Follow the daily routine (nap time, outside play, crafts)
  • Prepare snacks and dinner
  • Ensure homework and chores have been completed
  • Light duty cleaning
This position will also offer opportunitites for additional hours/days as we head into late spring and through the summer, up to 3 days a week. Those additional days can be flexible in which days/hours, however I need someone who will be reliable and available on Mondays on a regular basis. Wage is negotiable.
