Qualifications
This is the sort of thing you'll be responsible for:
- Plans and adapts the program/environment to meet the needs of individual children, and implements quality programming for children ages 0-12 years old in accordance with Ontario’s Pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen”
- Provide support to all children in the classroom and understand each child’s specific needs to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Support All children (ASD, Social emotional, ADHD if needed) with emotional, physical, or behavioural problems and help them to develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills
- Establish and maintain collaborative, supportive relationships with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community professionals
- Work with professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and early interventionists as necessary.
- Embrace reflective practices that respect diversity, equity, and inclusion with all children, families, and colleagues
- Experience with HiMama or similar software for documentation and reporting purposes is a plus, but not a must.
- Other related duties as assigned
It would be truly awesome (and required) if you also had:
- A degree or diploma in early childhood education from a recognized college or university
- A current, valid member in good standing of the College of ECE’s
- Experience as an Early Childhood Educator in a professional capacity (but we get it… sometimes you need to get experience to be experienced)
- Embrace reflective practices that respect diversity, equity, and inclusion with all children, families, and colleagues
- A strong voice that is a champion for our littles and their families, who can collaborate with existing staff / owner and create some kick awesome programing!
- Vulnerable sector criminal reference check (within the last six months) or ability to obtain VSCRC as a condition of employment
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C or ability to obtain same as a condition of employment
- Food Handlers Certificate
