About Us
Spark Montessori Home Educare (SMHE), we believe children learn best by exploring a thoughtfully prepared environment and following their natural interests. Guided by Montessori principles, we are dedicated to nurturing essential life skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning. As a unique, home-based childcare center, we support a close-knit group of five children (ages 1–4) in a warm, family-like setting. Our location boasts easy access to nearby parks, a forest, and a backyard garden and sandbox, providing abundant opportunities for outdoor exploration. As part of our team, you’ll be supported by the owner and welcomed into a community that values collaboration, growth, and the empowerment of both children and educators.
Your Role
● Deliver engaging presentations and lessons across all Montessori areas, including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Culture, and Cognitive development.
● Observe, guide, and assess each child, implementing individualized curriculum plans that address their evolving needs.
● Serve as a positive role model, fostering independence and curiosity while maintaining a nurturing, respectful atmosphere.
● Reflect on your practice, embrace feedback, and maintain a growth mindset to continually enhance learning outcomes.
● Build strong, cooperative relationships with children, families, and the LTHC team.
Key Responsibilities
● Observe, guide, and supervise children as they learn and grow in the classroom environment.
● Develop lesson plans and independent learning activities tailored to each child’s needs.
● Apply Montessori and play-based teaching principles to support holistic development.
● Communicate effectively with parents, sharing insights on each child’s progress and daily experiences.
● Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
● Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher interviews.
● Prepare newsletters and progress reports, and foster positive relationships with families.
● Support children with diapering and toileting as needed.
● Engage in outdoor activities with the children for at least two hours daily, weather permitting.
Qualifications
● Montessori training (AMI/MACTE) and/or RECE in good standing with the College of ECE (current students welcome to apply).
● Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSC).
● Up-to-date immunization and health records.
● Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certification.
● Experience working with children ages 6 months to 4 years; Montessori classroom experience is an asset.
● Passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy.
