SUPERVISOR OF EARLY LEARNING,
CHILD CARE AND FAMILY RESOURCES
FULL-TIME
The successful candidate will participate as a member of the Early Learning, Child Care and Family Resource management team at KW Habilitation. They will identify and inform the Manager of Early Learning of internal and/or early learning/child care community issues or trends that impact, or have the potential to impact on the effective and efficient delivery of the Resource Consultant supports in the Region of Waterloo. In addition, the successful candidate must have an excellent knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEY) and the Child and Family Services Act (CFSA), Province of Ontario.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess an ECE Diploma and/or University Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Studies & Resource Consulting/Teaching qualifications, a strong knowledge of child development, child care practices, inclusive early learning, early childhood/special needs programming and child care needs for children with complex needs, family dynamics; at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a related field, as well as solid leadership, communication, problem-solving, organization, team-building, and scheduling skills. Demonstrated competency and skill in the use of computers and software (e.g., MS Office, databases, e-mail, internet). A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are also required. Current certification in Standard First-Aid is essential.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Early Learning, Child Care and Family Resources, the Supervisor will provide leadership and supervision to a team of Resource Consultants and manage the Enhanced Staffing application process for children with any special need. The incumbent will facilitate the inclusion of all children within licensed child care and home care environments.
