Full Time Team Leader Position (1 year Maternity Leave)
Jacob Hespeler Child Care Centre (Centennial)
Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Child Care site including budget, staff, Child Care Early Years Act Regulations and programming. The successful applicant for this Leadership position will work 35 hours per week, 12 months per year. In addition to working within the program, sufficient office time to complete administrative tasks will be allotted based on the program needs and enrollment. Individuals will be placed on the Team Leader grid.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that the program meets all legal requirements
• Provides the Centre Supervisor support to make informed decisions.
• Ensures that operational policies established by the Board of Directors are implemented.
• Ensures that the curriculum meets policies established by the Board of Directors.
• Ensures on-going supervision of staff, if applicable
• Ensures accurate financial information is available to the Centre Supervisor
• Promote the program in the community
• Must be a member of the College of ECE, in good standing
Qualifications:
• E.C.E. Diploma or Degree or equivalent as approved by the Ministry of Education ( as per employee agreement )
• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• In the process of becoming certified or have already completed the Certification through the Association Of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Certified in the use of an environmental rating scale
• Extensive experience in licensed child care programs and activities, including knowledge of: policies and procedures related to the operation of a child care centre; child guidance techniques for healthy children as well as children with physical or developmental challenges, child development; standard methods of behavioural observation.
• Two years related experience in the Child Care Field.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with a wide range of personalities within the organization as well as within the community, e.g. Waterloo Regional District School Board, Families and Community Partners.
• Ability to set priorities and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, dedication and dependability.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of computers and their software, e.g. Word, Excel, Internet and E-mail
• Candidate will be approved in writing by Program Advisor, Ministry of Education
• Must be a member of the College of ECE, in good standing
