EarlyON FACILITATOR
FULL TIME PERMANENT
START DATE: May, 2022
Waterloo Region – Kitchener, Waterloo & North Dumfries

Are you a passionate professional with extensive knowledge of the early years and family support? Are you driven by work that matters and the knowledge that your success makes a difference in the lives of children and families?

EarlyON Child and Family Centres support all children, parents and caregivers in learning, growing and connecting – together. This aligns with Ontario’s renewed vision for the early years and child care, where all children and families have access to a range of high-quality, inclusive and affordable early years and child care programs and services that are centred around children and families, and contribute to children’s learning, development and well-being.
The YMCA of Three Rivers is one of the community’s largest non-profit organizations.  We are dedicated to the enrichment of our communities through the development of people and families.  Through our work, we foster belonging and wellbeing, and dedicate ourselves to building a healthy and vibrant community every day and we know EarlyON Child and Family Centres are an important piece of this work. That’s where you come in.
What you will do…
You will provide welcoming and inclusive environments where all children and families have access to high-quality programs and services influencing positive child, family and community experiences and outcomes.
  • You will engage parents and caregivers in conversations and experiences, sharing information about child development, parenting, nutrition, play and inquiry based learning, and other topics that support them in their role as their children’s first teacher.
  • You will support Early Learning and Development by providing experiences that build responsive adult-child relationships and encourage children’s exploration, play and inquiry, supported by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
  • You will respond to parents and caregiver’s questions or concerns about child development through conversations and observations, using validated tools and resources, and linking to specialized services; making connections for families during and beyond the early years.

What you will bring…
Ideally, you are a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with knowledge and expertise in child development and play and inquiry based learning.  You have experience creating environments that nurture relationships for children, parents and caregivers based on the latest evidence and research. You have a demonstrated knowledge How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years and experience delivering high quality early years programs. Relationship building, communication, adaptability, creativity and innovation, and teamwork are key competencies you rely on in your day-to-day work. Bonus points if you are Mandarin speaking.

What you will gain…
You will be an integral part of the EarlyON team in a community where families feel that they belong and are valuable contributors to their children’s learning, influencing positive outcomes for children and their families in the early years and beyond. Overall, you will join a dynamic team and an organization that has massive impact across our community. You will be joining a local organization but you’ll also be part of a global movement. Your work will have impact and the community we all call home will be a little better every day because of you. Evenings and weekends may be required.

Additional Information;
Transportation required, locations in Elmira, Breslau, Ayr, Cambridge and Kitchener are not accessible by bus.

Please note we are currently following Public health and Government guidelines related to COVID 19 both for our interview process and while working.   Interviews will be done virtually and any entrance into a facility will be subject to health screening.
