We are a multi-site Day Care operation in Kitchener-Waterloo licensed for children from birth to four years of age.  We are hiring RECE qualified staff who can work in a team setting or on their own.  You must have a positive personality and enjoy working with children.  More details of the job will be discussed in detail at the interview, but standard to the profession.  Look forward to hearing from you!

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator or related degree such as Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth Worker (subject to approval by the Ministry of Education)

  • Minimum one year experience with School Age children, preferably in a childcare, education or recreation setting
  • Understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act and familiarity with the use of assessment tools such as ECERS, ITERS, SACERS, High Five

​Morningside Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, professional candidate to work within our Toddler Community. This successful candidate will work with the children, families and teachers of Morningside to support their path to reach their goals and full potential. We are seeking to fill this position for January 2021.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 
• Plan, implement and support a consistent child-centred program in accordance with the Montessori philosophy. Guide, model and support a calm positive environment for the children.
• Provide safe and nurturing guidance for children throughout classroom work periods, outdoor, transitions, lunch, diapering/toileting, arrival and dismissal with focus on development of independence. • Engage actively with the children to support enriched learning experiences.
• Complete required documentation and observations of children’s development and interactions.
• Attend required training and professional development necessary for the position. Maintain qualifications and certifications as required. Be an active, positive participant and attend in school functions, conferences, family events, staff meetings as needed.
• Open, professional, collaborative, positive communication between co-workers and caregivers.
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
• Applicants must hold a MACTE/AMI accredited Diploma in Toddler Montessori Education and/or hold an Early Childhood Education Diploma and be a current member in good standing with C.E.C.E. with at least 3 years experience teaching.
• Candidates must be caring, self-motivated, patient, enthusiastic, and organized, and must have the ability to work within our school community.
• Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and families
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate passion with the children.
• Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, ability to work as early as 7:15am and as late as 5:45pm daily and at times weekends or early evenings for afterschool events or meetings etc.
• A capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the school, children, families and co workers
• Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• A current Vulnerable Sector Check, current Standard First Aid CPR Level C AED and current immunizations
• Professional, reliable, flexible individual that supports a team environment.

The Municipality of Brockton invites qualified applicants for the part-time position of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher Level II. The ECE Teacher Level II provides a full range of child care services to children from the ages of 18 months to 12 years.
Candidates must be self-motivated, flexible, energetic and have the ability to build trust and positive relationships with children and their families.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teaches gross motor skills, dramatic play, use of senses and science.
  • Supervises children in a variety of settings such as out of doors, in the classroom and in the sleep room.
  • Encourages children to participate, play cooperatively, problem solve, share and learn about safety.
  • Integrates separate individual programs for special needs children in with the regular program.
  • Assists with planning and organizing special events, field trips and parties.
  • Assists children with hygiene activities.
  • Responds to telephone enquiries, giving out information and taking messages.
  • Assists in various cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
  • Must adhere to current Public Health guidelines and Brockton Child Care Centre’s Covid-19 protocols.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency
  • Registered member of the College of ECE
  • Experience in the Child Care field
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently
  • Valid First aid/CPR
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
