Hours & Compensation
Position 1 Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:30 am and 6:00 pm
Position 2 Hours: Monday to Friday, up to 40 hours per week (up to 8 hours per day), Shift times adjusted between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm depending on arrival/departure times of the children.
For Both Positions:

Permanent Full Time
Start Date: Tuesday October 10th, 2023
Pay Rate: $23.418 per hour + additional $1 per hour received from CWELCC funding + eligible employees may receive a Provincial Wage Enhancement Grant (PWEG) of up to $2/hour for in-ratio hours based on the terms and conditions outlined by the Ministry of Education

To act as a positive role model for the children

You Have...·

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Experience working with children ages 4 months to 5 years in a licensed childcare setting
Proven ability to work as an effective team member

Vulnerable Sector Check document
Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C certification

Morningside Montessori School – Supply Staff

The Morningside Montessori School is looking for a supply staff to join the team who enjoys children, is caring and flexible with an interest in learning more about the Montessori Philosophy.

Responsibilities:

Understand and comply with Provincial, Municipal and School Policies.
Support a consistent child-centred program in accordance with the Montessori philosophy.
Completes required documentation and observations of children’s development/interactions.
Maintains qualifications and certifications as required by Morningside Montessori School and Provincial standards.
Support and model a calm positive environment for the children.
Supervise, guide, nurture and redirect children in the classroom, outside and through transitions in collaboration with the Montessori Guide.
Cleaning/Sanitization and upkeep of the classroom and other areas as needed.
Work together positively as a collaborative member of the teaching team.
Provide safe nurturing supervision and daily programming of toddler and preschool children.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a childcare setting (preferred)
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
Standard First Aid Level C CPR, AED (required)
Up-to-date immunization record (required)
Early Childhood Education diploma (preferred)
If RECE, registered in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, staff and families
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work any combination of hours between 7:30am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday
Have strong organizational and problem solving skills
Professional, reliable, flexible individual that supports a team environment.

Team Lead - EarlyON

Full Time, Permanent

This incumbent is responsible to create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, while supporting families. Adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014 (CCEYA), curriculum and program model expectations (How Does Learning Happen) and follow YMCA and EarlyON policies and procedures. Provide support and assistance in the daily centre operations.

Specific Responsibilities

Follow guidelines/expectations of the Region of Waterloo, the YMCAs of Cambridge and Kitchener Waterloo Policy and Procedures and EarlyON Waterloo Region Best Practices and adhere to Professional Learning expectations established by the YMCA/EarlyON.
Create an environment that is safe, clean and welcoming for children, parents and other caring adults.
Provide positive child guidance.
Provide materials for children and families that will give them the opportunity to learn, be successful and grow as individuals.
Responsible for communicating with parents and on site partners, agencies.
Work with team members to prepare a quality program that meets appropriate developmental needs of the children.
Complete program plans, documentations and record observations and reflections as per curriculum requirements.
Set-up EarlyON environments for children and families that is welcoming with various age-appropriate toys and activities.
Maintains open lines of communication with all staff, volunteers, students, parents, caregivers and external contacts.
Maintain parent and child relationships on a daily basis and provide ongoing parent education and information.
Responsible for daily administration, including documentation of centre occurrences, attendance as required.
Act as primary contact when EarlyON Supervisor is not on site; communicate with Supervisor when support/guidance is required for difficult situations

Qualifications

Completion of Community College ECE diploma or equivalent
RECE Membership required for qualified ECE candidates
1 – 2 years of relevant experience preferably within an EarlyON Child and Family Centre or Family Support Setting.
CPR and First Aid certification
Familiar with the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014 (CCEYA)
Proven computer knowledge of Microsoft Office
Available to work evenings and weekends
Driver’s license and vehicle required to travel to site locations - Site is not bus accessible.
Acceptable Police Check for Vulnerable Sector or willingness to obtain at own cost
