DUTIES:  (would include but not be limited to)
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of a stimulating, developmentally appropriate program for children and their families
  • To take an active role as part of the Centre’s professional child care team
  • To provide a warm and nurturing environment for children and families
  • To maintain effective communication with staff, parents and coordinator
  • To ensure the health and safety of the children
  • To act as a positive role model for the children
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education would be an asset
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting
  • Proven ability to work as an effective team member

Pay rate:         $21.069 per hour, with an additional 2% in lieu of benefits

SUPPLY DESIGNATED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS
The Waterloo Region District School Board is currently seeking applications for ‘Supply Designated Early Childhood
Educators’.
Applications will only be accepted from applicants currently registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood
Educators and current Early Childhood Education students scheduled to graduate prior to August 2020. NOTE that
conditional offers will be made to successful applicants until such time as registration with the Ontario College of Early
Childhood Educators in Good Standing is confirmed. Prior to registration, successful candidates may be deployed on an
emergency basis.
The Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day early
learning kindergarten program within a classroom setting. The DECE will also provide supervision and age appropriate learning
for groups of students as part of the extended day program as required. The DECE will report to the Principal of the school.
Successful candidates for the supply positions will be working on an “on call” basis from September to June.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a two year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma preferably with experience in a
childcare of educational setting (or in process)
Provide proof of registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (or in process)
Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED
Applications and supporting documentation stating qualifications and experience, including a copy of your
Certificate of Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (if applicable) and proof of Standard First Aid with CPR Le
C/AED must be included in your portfolio.
Selected candidates must be available to attend the interview. Interviews will be scheduled throughout the school year. There
will be no phone or skype interviews.

Stanley Park Rosemount Preschool (SPRP) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual as a preschool assistant for our 2019/2020 program. This is a part-time contract position that runs September to May (Tuesday to Friday mornings).
 
SPRP believes in providing a fun, safe and educational program that facilitates the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of our children. It is a co-operative based school run by a parent Board of Directors.  Our program runs four days a week with separate morning and afternoon programs. It is a licensed program with the Ministry of Education, Child Care Quality Assurance and Licensing Branch.
 
Responsibilities for the part-time preschool position include, but are not limited to:  
  • Providing supervision and guidance of children’s behaviour during daily activities and field trips
  • Assisting in arranging indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety
  • Working closely and harmoniously with Preschool Supervisor-Teacher, volunteers and the Parent-led Board of Directors
  • Following the guidelines set by the Ministry and Region of Waterloo
Qualifications:
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) is considered an asset
  • Experience working with children and exceptional references 
  • Warmth and sincerity when working with children
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork
  • Excellent behaviour management skills that include leadership, problem solving, positive reinforcement and redirection strategies
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screen (within six months), valid First Aid/CPR certificate and current health assessment (including vaccine history and TB test) by the official start date in September
