DUTIES:   
  • To provide classroom coverage
  • To provide support and assistance to part-time and full-time childcare staff with daily centre routines and in the delivery of stimulating, developmentally appropriate play-based programming
  • To provide a warm and nurturing environment for children and families
  • To ensure the health and safety of the children
  • To act as a positive role model for the
    children
 
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent would be an asset
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting
  • Proven ability to work as an effective team member


Pay rate: $16.50 per hour, with an additional 2% in lieu of
benefits

Hours: Shifts vary based on need

 Early Years Program Facilitator

SERVICE AREA:  Community Services
POSITION:            Early Years Program Facilitator
LOCATION:          Kitchener-Waterloo
REPORTS TO:     Supervisor, Early Years
HOURS:                Part time, variable hours (evenings & weekends as required)
SALARY:              $15.06 per hour
START DATE:      Immediate
FUNCTION:  To create and deliver quality programs and services for families and children ages 0 – 6 years in a welcoming, stimulating, and safe environment. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Provide appropriate guidance, information and direction to parents/caregivers
·         Provide materials for children that will give them the opportunity to learn, be successful and grow as individuals
·         Ensure that a diversified program is developed that supports and nurtures the development of the child while supporting the unique needs of the parent, caregivers and families
·         Set-up program areas that result in an environment that is safe, clean and welcoming with the various age appropriate toys and activities
·         Provide positive child guidance
·         Responsible for maintaining all data collection protocols
·         Attend workshops, trainings, conferences and staff meetings as required
·         Assume other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Completion of Community College ECE diploma or equivalent
·         3-6 months of experience in programming with children and families preferred
·         RECE Membership required for qualified ECE candidates
·         Membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators
·         CPR and First Aid certification
·         Knowledge of Healthy Child Development
·         Acceptable Police Check

Creativity and Innovation:  Develops new ways or adapts existing ideas to help us achieve desired results.

Problem Solving:  Identifies an issue gathering and processing relevant information to come up with possible solutions. Selects appropriate responses, and implements them.

  • To assist in the planning and implementation of stimulating programs for 8 - 12 year olds
  • To take responsibility for the health and safety of the children in your care

Oaks Early Learning Childcare Hiring

R.E.C.E. Position In the Preschool room of a Christian based Centre The Oaks Early Learning Childcare- Cambridge

Duties:  
·        To care for children between 2 ½ and 5 years of age
·        Provide a nurturing, inclusive experience that engages the children and provides learning opportunities
·        To set up the room and provide activities that interest the children; document and reflect on their experiences
·        Communicate with parents, staff and other professionals with a positive team approach
·        To take responsibility within the preschool room and assist in other job duties

This is a part-time job that is expected to turn into a full-time position as enrolment increases. Applicants may also apply for supply positions.

Qualifications:
·        Minimum 1 year experience in a childcare setting outside of required placements
·        Have an understanding of documentation and emergent practices
·        Be familiar with the Day Nurseries Act
·        Good written and Oral communication Skills

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROFESSIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE SUPPORT STAFF

LOCATION: Professional Resource Centre, ECE Building, Conestoga College (Doon Campus)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Professional Resource Centre is a membership based resource centre that provides a large variety of services to professionals and students in the Early Learning and Care Community. We require a qualified individual to act as a library clerk, providing information and directing members in the use of the resource library and equipment available at the Professional Resource Centre as well as maintaining office supplies and resources. This position also provides support to members and the general public regarding our services and may guide students placed at the Professional Resource Centre.

Responsibilities include:
·         Checking items in and out, following through with missing, damaged or late items, as well as coding, labeling and entering new items to the library system (maintaining inventory)
·         Providing customer service to members and the general public face to face, by telephone and through e-mail by providing general information, guidance/advice, and clarification regarding services and workshops
·         Providing orientation to new members regarding procedures related to the use of tools, equipment and lending library materials as well as maintaining membership information
·         Processing fees and registration for memberships, services and workshops
·         Organization, creation, and distribution of our membership based newsletter 

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Ability to work as part of a team
·         Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills including a positive attitude, tact, discretion and patience
·         Good organization, time management, problem-solving and multitasking skills
·         Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent, and must be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
