CASUAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT WORKER
(unionized position)

DUTIES:
-To provide classroom coverage
-To provide support and assistance  in the delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for 8 - 12 year olds which allow for choice, creativity, and independence
-To ensure  the health and safety of the children in your care
-To follow daily schedules and take responsibility for clean up and organization of supplies
-To act as a positive role model for the children

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Early Childhood Education, Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth Worker or related degree would be an asset
-Experience working with School Age children, preferably in a childcare, education or recreation setting
-Understanding of the Day Nurseries Act and familiarity with the use of assessment tools such as ECERS, ITERS, SACERS, High Five
-Knowledge of child development
-Proven ability to work as an effective team member
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Standard first aid and C.P.R training

Rate of pay: $17.043 per hour, with an additional 2% in lieu of benefits
Hours: as needed

-To implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for 8 - 12 year olds which allow for choice, creativity, and independence

-To work as part of a team of Youth Development Workers
-Maintaining effective communication with staff, parents, facility staff and co-ordinator
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Registered Early Childhood Educator or related degree such as Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth Worker (subject to approval by the Ministry of Education)
-Minimum one year experience with School Age children, preferably in a childcare, education or recreation setting

Team Lead- Child Care Teacher Needed

LOCATION: Kitchener-Waterloo
POSITION: Team Lead - Child Care Teacher
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, School Age Youth Development
HOURS: Full Time (evenings and weekends as required)
SALARY: $16.72 per hour
START DATE: Immediately

FUNCTION: Create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, while supporting families.  Adhere to the Days Nursery Act and YMCA policies and procedures.  Provide support and assistance to the Centre Supervisor and Supervisor School Age Youth Development on the daily operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-Create an environment that is safe, clean and welcoming
-Provide materials for children that will give them the opportunity to learn, be successful and grow as individuals
-Assume responsibility for communicating with parents and on site partners and agencies
-Work with team members to prepare a quality program that meets appropriate developmental needs of the children
-Complete program plans as per curriculum requirements
-Ensure that a diversified program is developed with established routines that support and nurture the development of the child
-Set-up a classroom environment for children that is welcoming with various age appropriate toys and activities
-Maintain open lines of communication with all staff, parents and external contacts
-Maintain parent and child relationships on a daily basis and provide ongoing parent education and information
-Assume responsibility for daily administration, including documentation of centre occurrences, attendance and curriculum projects as required
-Administer medication as per requirements
-Assist in the orientation of parents
-Prepare developmental profiles and conduct parent-teacher interviews as required
-Provide positive child guidance
-Communicate with Supervisor when support/guidance is required for difficult situations regarding the children
-Attend professional development workshops, association meetings, centre staff meetings etc.
-Act as the primary contact in the event of an emergency/issue/concern in the absence of the Centre Supervisor/Supervisor School Age Youth Development
-Assist in calculating, processing fees and coding receipts,  updating waiting lists, monthly statistical reports, monthly playground inspections and scheduling of staff
-Assist with hiring, orientation and training of centre staff and volunteers
-Assist with evaluating staff performance and establishing action plans for staff and centre
-Attend workshops, trainings, conferences and staff meetings as required
-Deliver Snacks to various locations as per program requirements
-Assume other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
-Completion of Community College ECE diploma or equivalent
-2 - 3 years’ experience in a licensed child care setting preferred
-CECE Membership required for qualified ECE candidates
-CPR and First Aid certification
-Familiar with the Day Nurseries Act
-Reliable vehicle required to travel to various locations
-Acceptable Police Check

Resource Teacher Consultant Needed

RECE Resource Teacher Consultant (Contract Position)

Reports to:
Manager / Supervisor of Early Learning, Child Care and Family Resources

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Registered Early Childhood Education degree or diploma, Resource Teacher certificate (or equivalency), and a minimum of two years related experience. Incumbents must have a good knowledge of child development, child care best practices, family dynamics, inclusive early learning, early childhood/special needs programming, and The Day Nurseries Act – Child Care and Early Years Act 2014 (Ontario).  Access to reliable transportation and functional computer proficiency are also required for this role.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will collaborate with early childhood educators, families and other professionals to provide quality programming for children with special needs enrolled in licensed child care programs. S/he will complete functional assessments, direct intervention, provide consultation to enhance the capacity of a licensed early learning/child care program to include all children, monitor growth and development and provide information and in-service training to early childhood educators and families.

40 hours/week

Creative Beginnings Child Care Centre is currently looking for full time, part time and supply staff positions in their childcare centres and YDP programs.

Creative Beginnings is a non-profit organization which operates three centres in Baden and New Hamburg.  We currently offer care for infants to school age children in our licensed facilities.

Qualifications:
·Diploma in ECE would be an asset.   
·Prior experience working with children in a childcare setting.
·Proven ability to work as an effective team member.
·Standard First Aid including infant and toddler CPR

RECE Kindergarten staff needed

RECE Kindergarten Program  
Inspiring Minds Early Learning Centre provides full day early learning and care for children 16 months to 12 years of age. We provide a stimulating environment designed to meet the needs of each child.

Inspiring Minds ELC is hiring a beginning and end of day RECE for our kindergarten program, to work approximately 15 – 20 hours per week and all PD days commencing September 8, 2015. Remuneration is dependent on experience.

 MAJOR DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
-Forming positive, personal relationships with children
-Planning and implementing a welcoming, enriching and safe environment
-Providing developmentally appropriate and positive child guidance
-Openly communicating with parents/guardians and team members on a daily basis
-Attending workshops and training for professional development, based on annual performance review
-Completing all required documentation and log book, following Centre policies and procedures
-Escorting Kindergarten children to and from the local public school to child care site

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
-RECE or equivalent
-Current Standard First Aid Certificate, with adult and child CPR
-Up to date Immunization Record
