The successful candidate will be employed on a regular part-time basis and may be scheduled to work at the following Child Development Centre, specifically in the Youth Development before and after school program at our Driftwood, JF Carmichael and John Darling sites in Kitchener.
 
Hours of work may be between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; up to 24 hours per week; split shifts
 
Hourly Rate: $25.38/hr
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Plans and adapts the program/environment to meet the needs of individual children, and implements quality programming for children ages 0-12 years old
  • Ensures that the basic needs of children are met, including health and safety
  • Provides ongoing supervision of all play areas and all activities/routines that occur
  • Communicates respectfully with parents and ensures that messages are passed on to both parents, and other staff

  • Two-year Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • A member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario

We are seeking a creative and energetic Registered Early Childhood Educator who is eager to join our team. Our Place is a non-profit organization that engages all children, their families, and their support networks in learning opportunities to promote optimal development of children, healthy families, strong community and a sense of belonging. We offer innovative programs and services for children and families in neighbourhoods throughout Waterloo Region. Our Place is an EarlyON | Waterloo Region mobile program site operator. The RECE in this position will be part of the Early Learning team in working directly with children and families. This position will report to the Early Years Program Coordinator. You must enjoy working collaboratively and be knowledgeable in early learning pedagogies and family support.

Qualifications Required:
  • A current membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • 3 – 5 years experience working in programs with children from birth to age six and their families
