RECE Teacher Position
Lakeshore Co-Operative Nursery School is currently recruiting
for a teaching position beginning September 2014, and is inviting all interested RECE’s, to apply.

We are a non-profit co-operative organization, who for the past
36 years, have been recognized for providing high-quality childcare each day. Currently, we operate preschool and toddler programs that service families in the Kitchener/Waterloo
community.

ROLES
Teaching Staff are responsible for:
 • Assisting in establishing and maintaining a safe, warm and
caring environment to support a high quality early learning and childcare program.
• Planning, developing and implementing programs of stimulating activities which promote the physical, social emotional and intellectual well-being of the children.

QUALIFICATIONS
• For RECE positions, a diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalency and
current registration with the College of ECE as outlined in the Day
Nurseries Act.
• Demonstrated awareness and knowledge of Emergent Curriculum and the developmental needs of children, with the ability to confidently implement a program.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a
team, in a fast paced, flexible environment with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of Day Nurseries Act (DNA).
• Current Vulnerable Sector Police Records check.
• Proof of up to date immunizations for TB, Tetanus and MMR.
• Experience working with special needs children is an
asset.
• Up to date First Aid and CPR training

YMCA Full time Child Care Teacher Needed

EMPLOYED BY: The YMCA of Cambridge or Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA
SERVICE AREA: Community Services
POSITION: Child Care Teacher
LOCATION: Cambridge or Kitchener-Waterloo
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Child Care Centre
HOURS: Full Time (evenings & weekends as required)
SALARY: $15.72 per hour
START DATE: September 2014

FUNCTION:  To create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, while supporting families. Adhere to the Days Nursery Act and YMCA policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create an environment that is safe, clean and welcoming
  • Provide materials for children that will give them the opportunity to learn, be successful and grow as individuals
  • Be responsible for communicating with parents
  • Work with team members to prepare a quality program that meets the appropriate development needs of the children
  • Complete program plans as per curriculum requirements
  • Ensure that a diversified program is developed with established routines that supports and nurtures the development of the child
  • Set up classroom with the various age appropriate toys and activities for children resulting in an environment that will be welcoming 
  • Be responsible for written communication consisting of attendance and accident reports, daily communication book, recording of messages, and the maintenance of information sheets on each child
  • Administer medication as per requirements
  • Prepare developmental profiles and conduct parent-teacher interviews as required
  • Provide positive child guidance 
  • Attend workshops, trainings, conferences and staff meetings as required
  • Assume other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Community College ECE diploma or equivalent
  • CECE Membership required for qualified ECE candidates
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Familiar with the Day Nurseries Act
  • Acceptable Police Check
  • 3-6 months of experience in programming with children and families preferred

Inspiring Minds Early Learning Centre hiring RECE

Inspiring Minds Early Learning Centre provides full day early learning and care for children 16 months to 12 years of age. We provide a stimulating environment designed to meet the individual needs of each child. 

Inspiring Minds ELC is hiring the following positions commencing September 2014: 
 
  • School age position; 37.5 hours/week (split shift)
  • School age position; approximately 20 hours/week (split
    shift).
Additional on call supply hours may be available. Remuneration will be based on experience.  
MAJOR DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
       


  • Forming positive, personal relationships with children
  • Planning and implementing a welcoming, enriching and safe environment
  • Providing developmentally appropriate
    and positive child guidance
  • Openly communicating with parents/guardians and team members on a daily basis
  • Attending workshops and training for
    professional development, based on annual performance
    review
  • Completing all required forms, curriculum sheets, log books, individual profiles, following Centre policies and
      procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • RECE or equivalent
  • Current First Aid andCPR Training
  • Up to date Immunization Record
  • Acceptable Police Check
  • Knowledge of DNA, current trends and developmentally appropriate practices
