Looking for a Full-time/Part-time/Supply RECE for a Christian Preschool Classroom
Starting at $16.00/hr. +

Job Description
1. Assists with designing and implementing a program that will nurture the children physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally and spiritually. This will include individual and group, active and quiet play experiences that will encourage:
•             communication and language skills
•             fine motor development
•             gross motor development
•             self esteem
•             problem solving
•             creativity and individuality
•             social interaction and respect for others
•             healthy respect for authority
•             spiritual growth
2. Develops a warm and caring relationship with the children.
3. Operates within the requirements of the Child care and Early Year Act 2014.
4. Ensures that the cleaning procedures required by the Health Unit, as stated in the Policies and Procedures Binder, are carried out on a daily basis.
5. Works as a team member with all other staff and volunteers
6. Records attendance and monitors daily health check of children upon arrival as indicated on attendance form.
 
Qualifications:  
  • A graduate of an accredited Early Childhood Education Program.
  •  Be a member of The College of E.C.E.
  • Be willing and excited to work with children with a range of special needs
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • This candidate must have a faith background.
  • Certified in ECERS or is able to attend the training.
  • Has an understanding of Emergent practices, observation and documentation.
  •  Is Familiar with the ‘How does Learning Happen ‘Document or is willing to learn and embrace it.

Canada Summer Job position – Early Learning Program Educator
 
Our Place Family Resource and Early Years Centre is a community-based, not for profit organization which supports the optimal development of infants, young children and their families through universal programs and services.  
 
Main Job responsibilities:
 
  • Under the guidance and direction of the Early Years Manager, plan, develop and deliver high quality play based, child centered programs that promote early learning and support children’s holistic development from birth to 6 years.
  • Provide a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment that supports a sense of belonging for children and their families.
  • Assisting families in accessing information and community resources related to child development and early learning. 
 
Qualifications
 
  • Must be enrolled in Community College or University program focusing on child development, early learning or family support e.g. Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Child and Family Studies, Child and Youth worker, Education Assistant program.  Experience and/or education related to children pre birth-6 years of age and their families.
  • Standard CPR/First Aid required
  • Police Check and Family and Children’s Services Check required
  • Demonstrated interest, knowledge and/or experience with emergent curriculum, play based learning and early learning pedagogy, specifically the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen? document.
  • Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understand a variety of cultures and value systems, and provide inclusive programs and non-judgmental support.
  • French or other second language an asset
 
Eligibility: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, so students must:
 
  • Be between the ages of 15‐30 years at the start of employment;
  •  Have been registered as a full time student in the 15/16 academic year and intend to return to school
              full time in the 16/17 academic year;
  •  Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have official refugee protection status under the
             Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  •  Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
 
Hours of work:  Hours of work:  Monday-Thursday 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. -7:30p.m.
 
This position is for 30 hours/week with a start date of July 4, 2016 and end date August 25, 2016.

RECE and RECE AssistantBeginning and End of Day Positions 
Inspiring Minds Early Learning Centre provides full day early learning and care for children 16 months to 12 years of age. We provide a stimulating environment designed to meet the needs of each child.
 
Inspiring Minds ELC has positions available in our toddler, preschool, kindergarten and school age programs, to work approximately 15 – 20 hours per week, commencing September 2016. Remuneration is dependent on experience.
 
MAJOR DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Forming positive, personal relationships with children
  • Planning and implementing a welcoming, enriching and safe environment
  • Providing developmentally appropriate and positive child guidance
  • Openly communicating with parents/guardians and team members on a daily basis
  • Attending workshops and training for professional development, based on annual performance review
  • Completing all required documentation and log book, following Centre policies and procedures
  • Escorting Kindergarten children to and from the local public school to child care site
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • RECE or equivalent (RECE is not required for all positions)
  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate, with adult and child CPR
  • Up to date Immunization Record

POSITION: 
The successful candidate models the philosophy of the Conestoga College Early Learning Programs and maintains professional relationships with children, families, Educators and professionals within our sector.  Implements quality programs for children aged 0-12 years old.  This candidate is responsible for upholding the CCEYA along with the guidelines in the staff handbook. 

Candidates for a joint application must also have an understanding of our current sector needs and an ability to support members of the PRC in the library setting. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently are an asset. 

This candidate must provide a copy of a clear criminal reference check, standard first aid and CPR; and up to date immunization records.
 

KEY DUTIES 
1.Plans and adapts the program/environment to meet the needs of individual children, ages 0-12 years old, as well as the group,
2.Implements quality programming for children 0-12 years old.
3.Ensures that the basic needs of children are met; including health and safety.
4.Provides ongoing supervision of all play areas and all activities/routines that occur.
5.Communicates respectfully with parents, teammates and clients; ensures that messages are communicated and relayed effectively between families, colleagues, management etc.
6.Ensures that any unusual situations are shared with management.
7.Attends staff meetings, contributes to team discussions and participates in professional development that is made available.
8.Other related duties as assigned.
