Full time RECE needed for brand new center
Three Oaks Child Care Organization is searching for an amazing Registered Early Childhood Educator for our new child care center in Guelph. The position starts May 1st 2019, with potential part-time hours beginning in April.

To be considered for the position, the applicant must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator, have (or be willing to attain) a current criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check, have up-to-date immunization records, and be First Aid and CPR certified.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of emergent curriculum and a deep respect for the value of play-based learning. You must genuinely enjoy working with young children and have a passion for learning and exploration, both indoors and out! A love of nature, outdoors, and/or gardening would be considered assets as well.
Pay starts at $18.00/hour (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).

Education Program.
  • Plan and adapt the program and environment to meet the needs of individual children as well as the group
  • Ensure the health and safety of children
  • Provide supervision to all play areas and all experiences/routines that occur
  • Plan, implement, and document experiences that meet the interests and developmental needs of the children
  • Observe and document the development of the children
  • Interact positively with children and adults
  • Uphold the Child Care and Early Years Act and the Centre’s staff handbook
  • Model appropriate curriculum strategies as taught in the ECE Program
  • Share information and observations with supervisor
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with parents
  • Participate in the initial intake process
  • Meet with parents privately at their request or when necessary to share more detailed information about their child’s progress
  • Communicate respectfully while upholding confidentiality
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development activities
  • Offer support and assistance to other staff in the child care centre
  • Share knowledge and expertise
  • Report unusual situations (i.e. accidents, parent requests/concerns, schedule changes, etc.) to supervisor

Qualifications:
  • Two year diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • A member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario
  • Working experience in a licensed child care setting, preferably one that has Early Childhood Education students placed in it
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Creative and flexible; able to participate in solving problems
  • Ability to apply the principles of child development and positive behavior
  • Current standard First Aid and CPR; up to date immunizations
  • Current Criminal reference check of the vulnerable sector
