DUTIES: (would include but not be limited to)
- To plan and implement a stimulating, developmentally appropriate play-based program for children and their families
- To work as part of a team of Childcare Workers and monitor the quality of the program
- To provide a warm and nurturing environment for children and families
- To maintain effective communication with staff, parents and coordinator
- To ensure the health and safety of the children
- Checking of staff communication book before every shift
- Support all Children with their emotional, physical and behavioural needs daily
- Ability to work at the height of the children, sitting on the floor or carpet for extended periods of time up to an hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary Graduate in Early Childhood Education (Diploma)
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Education
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with preschool and toddler children in a licensed childcare setting
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member
- Up-to-date CPR-C /First Aid
- Up-to-date Police Vulnerable Sector Check (within 3 months)
- Up-to-date Immunization record
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to think strategically on a daily basis while following the guidelines set out in the CCEYA
- Maintains confidentiality at all time
- The RECE will perform other duties as required by the centre Supervisor
