Job Description
We are looking for a person with a pleasant disposition, who loves cooking and thrives in a fast paced environment and pays attention to cleanliness. Although experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred, it is not required. Over the last 30+ years a number of our cooks have just had cooking experience cooking for their own families as they have grown up. It is basic family style meals and you are on your own in the kitchen. Most of our children range in age from 8 months to 4 years. You would be working Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm for a total of 25 hours per week. We allot an extra hour each day during the first two week period. You would prepare the lunch time meal and the afternoon snack. You would be responsible for everything in the kitchen including dishes and its cleanliness and organization to meet all requirements of the Region of Waterloo Health Department. You would put together the grocery list each week and then when it is delivered to the centre, you would put it away. The meal is served by the teachers family style in the classrooms and you deliver it to the classrooms in serving bowls on a trolley.
As we are licensed by the Ministry of Education, *IF SELECTED* you would be required to get
We are closed all Stat Holidays, August Civic Holiday and a week between Christmas and New Year’s.
Salary: $16.00 per hour
Benefit Package after 6 months of employment

- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Food Safety Certificate (one day course)
- Ministry of Education requires anyone working in a Child Care Centre have their Standard First Aid with a level C CPR.
